Product Description
Product Description
Ensure reliable power management on your vessel with the Argodiode Battery Isolator 180-3AC, designed to efficiently handle multiple battery systems. Perfect for marine and boating applications, this isolator safeguards your starter battery while keeping accessory batteries charged.
Key Features
- Supports up to 3 batteries with a total capacity of 180A
- High-efficiency Schottky diodes for minimal voltage drop
- Compensation diode to maintain optimal alternator output
- Special current-limited energize input for reliable alternator charging
Efficient Multi-Battery Charging
The Argodiode Battery Isolator allows simultaneous charging of two or more batteries from a single alternator without directly connecting them. This ensures that discharging an accessory battery does not affect the starter battery, providing uninterrupted power for essential systems on your boat.
Low Voltage Drop Technology
Equipped with high-efficiency Schottky diodes, the isolator maintains a low voltage drop—approximately 0.3V at low currents and up to 0.45V at the rated 180A output. This minimal voltage reduction ensures your batteries receive adequate charge, prolonging their lifespan and maintaining peak performance.
Voltage Compensation for Optimal Charging
Each Argodiode Isolator includes a compensation diode that can slightly increase the alternator's output voltage. This feature compensates for the voltage drop across the isolator’s diodes, ensuring your batteries are fully charged without premature aging.
Reliable Alternator Charging
Some marine alternators require DC voltage on the B+ output to initiate charging. Traditional diode or FET splitters can block this necessary voltage, preventing the alternator from starting. The Argodiode 180-3AC incorporates a special current-limited energize input that ensures the B+ receives power when the engine’s run/stop switch is engaged, enabling consistent and reliable alternator operation.
Installation and Usage
Installing the Argodiode Battery Isolator is straightforward. Simply insert the isolator into the cabling between your alternator and battery bank. This setup will manage the charging process efficiently, ensuring each battery is adequately charged without interference.
