Installation Guidelines

Proper installation is crucial for optimal protection:

• Install one (1) CO detector in each accommodation space.
• For small crafts or RVs with open designs, one (1) detector may suffice.
• If your vessel has two (2) or more sleeping areas or partitioned spaces, equip each space with its own detector.

The CMD6-M Series utilizes cutting-edge sensor technology and a microprocessor to accurately measure CO levels. By employing a Time Weighted Average (TWA) process, it assesses CO concentration, temperature, and time to calculate Carboxyhemoglobin (COHb) levels—the indicator of CO’s impact on blood oxygen capacity.

How It Works

COHb represents the percentage of hemoglobin bound with carbon monoxide, reducing the blood’s ability to carry oxygen. The CMD6-M alarm continuously calculates COHb over time, determining the appropriate alarm response to alert you before CO levels become hazardous.
