How It Works

The oil pressure gauge operates by sending a low amperage current through the gauge's meter to ground via a sending unit with variable resistance. Changes in engine oil pressure cause the resistance of the sending unit to vary, which in turn adjusts the current flowing through to the gauge. This results in the meter deflecting to display the current oil pressure, allowing you to monitor your engine’s performance in real-time.
