How It Works

The fuel level gauge operates using a low amperage current that flows through the gauge's meter to the ground via a sending unit with variable resistance. Changes in fuel pressure and temperature affect the sender's resistance, which in turn adjusts the current flow. This variation causes the meter to deflect accurately, displaying the current fuel level on the dial.
