How It Works

The tachometer operates by counting pulses generated by your engine's ignition system, alternator, tach signal generator, or magnetic pickup sender. It connects to your boat's electrical system via +12 VDC, Ground, and a compatible signal source.

By selecting the appropriate tachometer and adjusting the switch on the back, you can calibrate it to recognize the number of pulses per engine revolution, ensuring precise RPM readings.

Installation

1. Disconnect the boat's electrical system before beginning installation.
2. Remove the existing gauge and measure the gauge hole to ensure compatibility with the 4" tachometer.
3. Connect the tachometer to the +12 VDC, Ground, and the appropriate signal source as per the provided wiring diagram.
4. Adjust the back switch to match the number of pulses per engine revolution for accurate RPM readings.
5. Secure the tachometer into the dashboard using the white aluminum bezel.
6. Test the connections and ensure all SystemCheck indicators function correctly.
