Capt Chris German

Capt Chris German is a life long sailor and licensed captain who has taught thousands to sail over the last 20 years. A graduate of UCONN and Boston University, he spent the early days of his career in radio, TV and print in the New England markets.  But hearing the call of the sea, German left the media to teach sailing.

In 2007, he founded a US Sailing-based community sailing school in Bridgeport, CT for inner city youth and families. When Hurricane Sandy forced him to abandon those efforts, he moved to North Carolina where he set out to share this love for broadcasting and sailing with a growing web-based television audience through The Charted Life Television Network.

Through his television station, German happened upon an idea for a web-based documentary featuring five boats and five teams of sailors who will spend a year sailing The Great Loop of the United States that he hopes to produce in the coming year.

German continues to share his love of sailing with the Life of Sailing audience and hopes that his readers enjoy the sailing lifestyle while practicing three suggestions he offers at the end of every article he writes:  do good, have fun and sail far.
